Business to business, or B2B, sales leads will be compiled differently from insurance or real estate sales leads, in that they are aimed exclusively toward other businesses that are likely to show an interest in the product or service being marketed.Segmentation is carried out by using different criteria, such as the size of business, the number of employees, the particular sector it is in, and a range of criteria along similar lines. The quality of the sales leads will be determined by how accurate the information that they contain is. If the compiler of the sales lead list has researched the market thoroughly, making amendments to previous versions and constantly updating the list so that it is composed entirely of the main decision makers, then the quality will be higher and the responses will be better. It is worth considering whether the compiler of the list is a salaried worker or whether they work mainly on commission. If the former, then they will not have been driven as much by quantity, and the list will have a greater emphasis on quality, which is far more valuable when carrying out a campaign. Businesses rely upon each other for services and products, and the type of selling involved is often less focused on calling up businesses unexpectedly, and more concerned about building up good relationships with the business to offer them a service that they may require. The most important thing for business sales leads is that the leads are made up of the decision makers at companies. It is no good simply getting the name of the receptionist, as they will have been trained to filter out such calls. A good business lead will lead directly to the names that matter, those who control large budgets and are in positions to make important decisions, and the quality of a business sales lead list will reflect this. |
